If your Mustang see more track time than street time We suggest choosing the Ultra-Guard without the "LS" Limited Slip Additive. In Torsen equipped vehicles removing the additive theoretically will improve the Bias properties of the Torsen on track. Ford uses the additive to 'calm down' the Torsen on the street. Torsens typically will pop and bang during low speed turns which is normal and does not affect the life of the unit. On track with improved Bias the differential can offer improved lock up allowing for more power to the wheels on corner exit.
If you still daily drive your Mustang we recommend running the LS Ultra-Guard to maintain 'street manners' If you have a clutch type differential continue to use the "LS" version.

The Factory Fluid in some models is only a 75W-85-viscosity oil which is great for fuel mileage but not so great during a 20 minute on track session where the differential is working overtime to send power to the rear wheels. We offer 75W-90 oil that in cool temperatures acts like the factory oil but during higher temperatures provides slightly improved film strength. The additional oil film strength provides a ‘cushion’, preventing metal-to-metal contact, which helps lower operating temperatures.
If you run your Mustang on track you may find the rear axle overheats under certain conditions. Due to requests from our track customers we now offer an option of either the 75W-90 or 75W-140 Ultra Guard LS Lube. As the oil heats up the viscosity improvers in the additive package raise the viscosity of the oil. This helps eliminate the shearing effects caused by the ring and pinion which causes to oil to overheat. The 75W-140 with it's "thicker" properties maintains a better layer of protection under extreme conditions.
Most factory fills were 75W-140. The Shelby GT500 may specify 75W-85 in which 75W-90 can be used.

This is a premium quality product that offers extended protection and is designed for long life at extended operating temperatures. This oil is compatible with all Limited Slip, Traction Lock and Torsen Type Differentials.No additional additives need to be added for proper operation and performance. We designed this kit to be simple for a casual DIY'ers and minimal left over extra oil. You can even use the container to return your used oil to your oil-recycling center.
BG Products Ultra-Guard® LS Full Synthetic Gear Lubricant provides the ultimate protection for drive line components. It is a full synthetic API GL-5 rated gear lubricant blended to SAE 75W-90 or SAE 75W-140 viscosity to perform in extreme heat and artic conditions. BG Ultra-Guard® LS is formulated for increased thermal stability, improved seal performance, quieter operation and unsurpassed protection against wear, pitting and corrosion. Excellent for use in conventional and limited slip applications. The addition of a supplemental friction modifier is not required.
