Callies Finish Ground Camshafts - LS Hydraulic Rollers
With over 50 different profiles for the LS based engine, we have a camshaft to fit 95% of all applications from a mild daily driver Pick-Up truck to a Bracket Race engine.
While the installer is responsible for checking Valve to Piston Clearance and accurately Degree in the camshaft with the appropriate timing set, the majority of these camshafts were designed to clear the stock LS bottom end. Most of these cams also respect the OEM Rocker Arm geometry to prevent over travel of the rocker arm and to prevent excessive side loads on the valves which leads to valve guide wear.
****Scroll to the bottom of the page for all the cam specs, choose the camshaft and the associated part numbers are listed in the drop down box (depending on your browser you may have to open the file)****
All our camshafts are listed based on Intake Duration at 0.050" lift.
A basic rule of thumb for choosing Intake Duration is pictured
These are starting points on choosing a camshaft. Bigger is usually not better, the cylinder head flow, engine displacement and application are a few of the many variables in choosing a camshaft. We publish all the data to better educate the Customer.
Callies fully finished camshafts are machined and heat treated entirely in house. This continuity of manufacturing allows Callies to deliver high quality camshafts on schedule. Our finished cams are ground with the latest Landis CNC technology. They are ADCOLE and Jenoptik inspected for accuracy, making them the most consistent cams on the market today. If required, your cams can be finished with inverted flank lobe profiles and complex VVT oil channels and drillings.
Callies Cam Research Lab – Valvetrain durability is a key ingredient to the success of every engine. The Callies Cam Research Lab has been established to guarantee that our cams are capable of extended life cycles in abusive applications. When combined with our metallurgical capabilities, the Callies Cam Research Lab allows evaluation of lobe profiles, valvetrain systems and processing methods like no other cam company. Spintron testing enables our engineering staff to evaluate valvetrain stability in minute detail up to 11,000 RPM. Programmable test cycles allow complete event simulation. Sixteen channel data acquisition can provide monitoring of temperatures, pressures, flows, loads and strain.
